This website is dedicated to promoting and researching the medical use of cannabis. We have a small but dedicated team of experts working with Cannabis Cure, from both Europe and North America, including activist Mel Thomas, author of several cannabis related books including The Medical Cannabis Guide Book.
Please check out the seeds page. All money raised helps finance our work as we operate as a non profit organisation..
All members of the team are themselves medical marijuana users and fully understand the issues patients have when researching the possible benefits of cannabis use to treat their various medical conditions.
We firmly believe that anyone suffering from the many illnesses that the medicinal use of cannabis has been shown to alleviate should have access to the latest science backed information in order to help them make an informed decision as to whether cannabis use would be of any benefit to them.
Does cannabis cure? – Noun. 1. cure – a medicine or therapy that cures disease or relieves pain; curative, therapeutic, remedy, treatment – care provided to improve a situation (especially medical procedures or applications intended to relieve illness or injury). Cannabis certainly fits the medical definition and can safely be described as a cure for many medical conditions. In a recent interview Thomas stated:
“There has been a huge progression in the United States with regard to medicinal cannabis use, although there is still considerable variation between states. In Europe there are still issues with denying access to natural cannabis based medicines, however, there is a gradual acceptance that the prohibition of a beneficial and organic medicine, that prior to prohibition was widely accepted as a treatment for over 100 separate illnesses, is no longer tenable”
At present it is possible to be prescribed synthetic cannabis in most countries. These are manufactured in laboratories by the pharmaceutical industry and this raises the question as to why it is acknowledged that cannabis can be of tremendous benefit to many patients, yet only made available to them in expensive synthetic forms that are proven to be an inferior replacement to organic cannabinoids.
GW Pharmaceuticals based in the United Kingdom market a mucosal spray called Sativex.
It is a pharmaceutical product developed from two specific cannabinoids isolated from actual cannabis plants. It defies logic, as by isolating THC and CBD from the other 110 individual cannabinoids found naturally in the cannabis plant they are negating the synergistic effect that these compounds have, each complimenting the other in a natural and balanced fusion of molecules.
It is no surprise that after extensive trials Sativex was found to be of no benefit to cancer patients whatsoever when compared to a placebo.
Cannabis has been safely used medicinally for hundreds of years, it has no potential for overdose or toxicity; there has never been a single fatality recorded from its use.
It makes absolutely no sense for pharmaceutical companies to either create expensive synthetic chemical alternatives or perhaps even more cynically remove and market specific cannabinoids from the actual plant. It is wholly unreasonable, unethical and counterproductive to deny patients access to a natural medicine they can effectively produce themselves.
It is the view of the Cannabis Cure team that we need to move away from ineffective, profit based chemical cannabis substitutes: also laboratory isolated cannabinoids such as Sativex.
We should be working with nature not against her, more importantly cease attempting to manipulate a plant that has naturally evolved over millennia to be of tremendous benefit to us all.
