How To Make RSO-Infused Cannabis Chocolate At Home?

This is an easy-to-prepare, rich, dark Cannabis chocolate recipe to create your own marijuana edible chocolate bars, cookies, and desserts.

3-5 grams finely-ground cannabis
100 grams of dark chocolate
Glass bowl
Saucepan
Chocolate mold

1. To maximize the effects you will need to decarboxylate your cannabis by placing in a preheated oven. Cannabis must be decarboxylated if it’s to be eaten, taken orally, or used topically. If you’re making cannabis butter, infused coconut oil, edibles or any preparation that won’t be smoked, the cannabis needs to be decarboxylated first. The cannabis plant makes (THC-A) and (CBD-A), the acid forms of these popular cannabinoids. Heating cannabis converts the (THC-A) to (THC) and converts (CBD-A) to (CBD). Best results are achieved using a Pyrex dish with a lid. Because raw cannabis contains primarily (THC-A) eating uncooked cannabis doesn’t get you stoned. Heat decarboxylates (THC-A) turn it into (THC). There’s a lot of confusion online about decarboxylation. This is the generally accepted method:

For maximum (THC-A) to (THC) conversion, heat at 245°F for 60 minutes.
For maximum (CBD-A) to (CBD) conversion, heat at 245°F for 90 minutes.

2. Whilst your marijuana is in the oven, melt your chocolate. Place a glass bowl on top of a saucepan with simmering water, add in your chocolate, and stir occasionally. The steam will gently heat your chocolate, leaving it smooth and creamy without burning it.

3. Chop your decarboxylated cannabis as fine as possible, preferably using a powered herb grinder. Add the cannabis to the chocolate and mix thoroughly. Once well-combined, pour the chocolate into the mould and let it cool. If you do not have a chocolate mould, feel free to use ice cube trays.

4. Gently drop the mold on a hard surface a few times to remove any air bubbles from the chocolate.

5. Let the chocolate cool and harden in the fridge. Once hardened your cannabis chocolate is ready to eat.

Can Eating Chocolate Prevent Illness?

Recent interest in the health benefits of chocolate was sparked by studies on the cocoa-drinking peoples of Central America.

Researchers observed that the Kuna Indians of Panama, who drank cocoa as their main beverage, had very low blood pressure, a leading cause of heart disease and stroke. Chocolate is the processed and sweetened food produced from cocoa.

Cocoa is a good source of iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, and zinc. It also contains the antioxidants catechins and procyanidins. Studies recommend that organic dark chocolate has the most benefit.

Some limited animal and laboratory research suggests a cocoa-rich diet could offer protection against bowel cancer. But it’s impossible to conclude from research carried out in a laboratory that cocoa is effective.

In a study from 2009, 30 healthy people who were given 40g of dark chocolate a day for 14 days experienced a reduction in stress hormones. Cocoa has also been shown to assist in lowering blood pressure and shows some effect in treating Venous leg ulcers as well as some evidence cocoa can help prevent strokes.

Alison Hornby, a dietitian, and BDA spokesperson say it’s important to remember the studies on the health benefits of chocolate have focused on cocoa extracts, not chocolate.

She states: “A range of health benefits from the consumption of cocoa products have been investigated, particularly in relation to cardiovascular disease, with early results showing promise. However, the health benefit of compounds in chocolate has to be weighed against the fact that the cocoa is combined with sugar and fat.”

Whatever the evidence shows, chocolate high in cocoa content is a great addition to your cannabis medication and tastes great!

Whenever you make a new batch of Cannabis chocolate always treat the first piece with respect, as cannabis strength varies from strain to strain your chocolate strength will also be variable.

Cannabis chocolate edibles are an excellent way to take your medical marijuana, however, the effects from eating cannabis can be very different from smoking on a vaporizer or pipe.

When first experimenting with your Cannabis chocolate edibles it is advisable to start in the evening, to begin with and remember that the effects can take up to one hour to be effective so do not be tempted to consume more until you are sure you have fully digested the first dose.
